Who can become a member?
Do you hold a degree from ETH Zurich or have you been involved in academic work at ETH? If so, you can become a member of ETH Alumni.
With an ETH degree
You are considered an alumna or alumnus if you hold an officially recognised degree from ETH Zurich. These include:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s (BSc, BA, MSc, MA; formerly ‘Diplom’)
- Doctorate or Habilitation
- Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) or Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA)
- Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) or Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS)
- Teaching diploma for secondary schools or a certificate in pedagogy (including a qualification for higher-level teaching and a teaching certificate)
- Postgraduate studies (NADEL)
- Federal Diploma in Pharmacy, as a PE and sports teacher, or as a career officer
Your eligibility for membership remains valid for life – even if your degree programme or training changes later on or is no longer offered.
Without an ETH degree
Former and current academic members of the teaching staff, as well as former and current research staff, may also become members, provided they have worked or are currently working at ETH Zurich for at least four semesters.
In cases of doubt, the Executive Board of the ETH Alumni Association will decide on alumni status after consulting with the ETH Zurich management.

You can manage your membership directly in MyAlumni. From 2027, registration for the ETH Alumni Association will also take place via MyAlumni.

Membership is free up to and including the age of 27. From the calendar year in which you turn 28, the membership fee is CHF 70 per year.
With a membership, you can get involved in up to five member organisations. If you do not wish to join a member organisation, you will be registered as a direct member. Via MyAlumni, you can leave one member organisation and/or join another at any time.
Would you like to cancel your membership?
Your notice of cancellation must be received by the ETH Alumni Association in writing, either by or post, by the end of November at the latest, so that your membership is cancelled with effect from the following year.
The full membership fee is due for the current year.
Would you like to rejoin later? As a graduate of ETH Zurich, you can reactivate your membership at any time.
