Since November of this year Sibylle Schuppli is part of the ETH Alumni office. She succeeds Christine Köchli who attended to the communication and who left the association at the end of October.

On September 20, 2018 the first ETH Alumni Career Training Event took place. The subject was "wage negotiations". Julia Kalenberg and Susanne Buri showed the 10 Alumni who participated in the Seminar how to handle this sometimes sensitive matter.

On October 17, 2018 the Austrian Society of foreign policy and the United Nations (ÖGAVN) and the Alumni Chapter Vienna invited into the Hofburg to the presentation of ETH president Prof. Dr. Lino Guzzella. The topic of the presentation was «Talent Assistance - Digital Change». Around 150 interested viewers attended, unfortunately only one Alumni was amongst them.

Hike in Born along the Sauer

Around 15 members of the Alumni Chapter Luxemburg hiked along the border river Sauer, between Germany and Luxemburg, for 2 hours with fantastic autumn weather on October 14, 2018. Start and end of the hike was the small village Born at the Sauer.

The announcement of the Times Higher Education (THE) ranking on September 27, 2018 not only brought university leaders to Singapore, but also called for a gathering of the ETH community to welcome ETH Rector, Professor Sarah Springman to Singapore. The warm welcome at the sky garden of the CREATE Tower was not only attributed to the tropical weather, but also to the cordial reception of the Singapore-ETH Centre and leaders of ETH Zurich at ETH’s home away from home.
