Greenland: An excursion into climate research

On 27th January 2020, the ETH Alumni invited to a speech about Greenland. Konrad Steffen offered more than just a presentation about the country up north: the ETH professor for climate and cryosphere talked about the state of research and the various scenarios for the future of our planet. The venue was fully booked; the many questions at the end were evidence to active interest.

Roland Sigrist

ETH Alumnus Roland Sigrist studied at and graduated from the Department of Health Sciences at ETH. He is now Executive Director of CYBATHLON. In May 2020, more than 90 teams from 30 countries will come together in Zurich’s Kloten municipality to compete against one another in various disciplines. He talks about his work and the possibilities which open up to people volunteering at CYBATHLON.

ETH Alumni Chapter Baden met for the traditional New Year’s Apéro at Villa Boveri on January 16, 2020. OG Baden’s president, Dr. Thomas Blättler, welcomed all members who attended in large numbers and gave a short review on 2019 as well as a presentation of this year’s program that includes three further events and also four “Stämme”. As usual, all participants started the year at the Villa’s summerhouse and this time again, they were able to listen to an interesting talk ran by Dr. Christian Brönnimann.

Six Members of the ETH Alumni Chapter Wien met at the NZZ Europa Podium Wien to attend a discussion about “Migration”. The discussion was hosted by NZZ Podium Europa, and staffed with an artist, an author and famous Austrian politicians.

«SBB CFF FFS» - retrospect, insight, prospect

Jubiläumsevent SBB

The Swiss railroad company is simply iconic. A show at the Museum für Gestaltung Zurich is dedicated to the essence of SBB’s design in the areas of architecture, industrial design and visual communication. The MAS MTEC Alumni took this multidisciplinary exhibition to celebrate the 150th anniversary on 21st November 2019.
