This autumn, VESUV organized a guided tour through the energy tunnels and energy central of ETH Zurich center.
ETH and UZH Alumni Badminton Evening 2022
Chapter Shanghai Alumni
After a longer break due to Covid, alumnae and alumni from ETH and UZH met for a badminton evening at Jing’an Gymnasium in the heart of Shanghai on a late summer evening. The doubles game was friendly and fun, followed by a chill glass of cocktail in a bar nearby.
Regulars’ table in October 2022
Chapter Luxembourg Alumni
On 5 October 2022, Chapter Luxembourg Alumni invited to its monthly regulars’ table at the Brasserie du Kirchberg in Luxembour. Ten alumni (among them also Jean Pierre Wagener with diploma year 1962) accepted the invitation. In addition, three further alumni were connected via ZOOM and participated from Switzerland.
Autumn event of the VECS Chemistry Alumni at the Grimsel rock laboratory of NAGRA

On 16 September, VECS Alumni and some Bio Alumni visited the NAGRA rock laboratory. The visit could not have been of more current interest, as the decision on the site of the Swiss deep geological repository in the Nördlich Lägern region had been announced a few days earlier.

The company tour at Zweifel Pomy-Chips AG was very well attended. On a September afternoon, around 30 alumni and alumnae met in front of the orange-coloured company complex in Spreitenbach.

Patrick Rühs studied food science and graduated from ETH Zurich with a PhD in food process engineering. Today, he is the Head of Science at the start-up Planted that produces plant-based meat with great success. Patrick talks to us about his career and what motivates him in his daily work.
