A journey in time to Giornico

On Saturday, October 5, 2019, the Alumni Chapter Ticino visited the village Giornico and the Museo di Leventina. Thereby, the participants learned interesting details about the history of the village Giornico and they learned about the former conventional traditions and rituals as well as the topic of identity at the museum.

Ralf Sasse: "5G has improvements concerning authentication and integrity of actual data."

Ralf Sasse

Dr. Ralf Sasse works at ETH at the Institute of Information Security. In a group of experts, he analysed 2018 the 5G cellular mobile telephony concerning security. The group had found a fault that was then fixed. On 19th November, he will take part in the Focus Event "5G technology – fears and facts" as the moderator. He explains where 5G currently stands and what possibilities it offers.

On Monday, October 14, 2019, the ETH Alumni Chapter Greece celebrated the 150th anniversary of the ETH Alumni Association. The attendance of the Swiss Ambassador Mr. Olaf Kjelsen and the Greek State Secretary for Research and Technology, Mr. Christos Dimas, together with many alumni honoured the event.

On September 14, 2019, the Alumni Chapter Zug gathered to celebrate together the 150th anniversary of the ETH Alumni Association. Appropriate for the event, the Alumni Chapter Zug addressed themselves to their own roots that day and visited the areal of Siemens in Zug.

After its creation this summer, the Science, Technology and Policy (STP) Alumni Faculty Group officially kicked off with a welcome Apéro on the 13th of September 2019. Students from each cohort since the creation of the Institute of Science, Technology and Policy of ETH Zürich gathered and welcomed the institute's new students to their exciting journey ahead.
