A few days before the opening of the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Chapter Ticino Alumni visited the National Youth Sports Center in Tenero (CST) where top athletes enjoy an excellent training infrastructure in a hospitable environment at Lake Locarno.

On August 12, 2021, the third new graduates' event of the Chapter Baden Alumni took place. After a short welcome speech of the event organiser, Sarah Ali, board member of the chapter, all participants could enjoy the warm summer evening with a tasty dinner and interesting conversations.

ETH alumnus Markus Blocher studied and received his doctorate in chemistry from ETH Zurich. He has been the CEO of Dottikon ES, a spin-off of EMS-Chemie, since 2003. In 2005, he became the company’s majority shareholder and has been Chairman of the Board since 2012. In this interview, he talks to us about his career and the challenges he currently faces as CEO of a medium-sized enterprise.

This year’s summer workshop took place from 16 to 20 August. As in 2020, the event took place virtually via Zoom and Microsoft Teams. The seven children and youngsters participating could expect a diversified programme. It included topics like people with impairments, inclusion and robotics, folding techniques, plant physiognomy as well as information technology and an individual design for apps.

In stressful everyday life, artistic creativity often comes up short. To counteract this shortfall, Environmental Science Alumni organised an ArtNight@Home.

About 25 VESUV members met at the end of July for a beer after work. The event took place in Bern and Zurich at the same time. Both cities have nice locations at the waterfront.
